Journey so far

ROSE vzw is a volunteer organization based in Leuven, Belgium with the objective of giving a helping hand to less-privileged children in developing countries. ROSE was established in 2001 as a VZW organization (Registration Nr 0474.242.896) by few students of University of Leuven.

ROSE was started by a few PhD students many years ago who felt that they needed to think beyond and dedicate some of their time to activities that would help extend the blessings that we enjoy to the least fortunate ones of our community. Over the years, ROSE has been managed by generations of PhD students and others who have voluntarily lent their time and creative ideas to further this noble mission, handing over the mantle to the succeeding generation of volunteers and so on.

Over the last 7 years, we have conducted more than 15 fund-raising activities and funded more than 40 projects in around 15 states of India. Notable among our accomplishments are a project for €10,000 for reconstruction of a school destroyed by the 2004 Tsunami, a project of €20,000 for construction of schools for tribal girls, and a mega-project worth €100,000 which has been used for funding more than a dozen projects all over India. More on our projects and fund-raising activities can be found by visiting Reports or Projects and Events pages on this website.
